6th Annual Senior Resource Day

  • Approximately 50 vendors and 500 senior citizens were expected to attend the 6th Annual Senior Resource Day on Thursday, May 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Good Shepard Baptist Church in Petersburg. Put on by the Petersburg TRIAD and S.A.L.T. Council in sponsorship with the Petersburg Sheriff's Office, the event aimed to "provide a safer community for seniors." Health and safety information was presented in the form of resource booths, vendors and guest speakers. Entertainment included choir and line dance performances by senior citizens as well as a special visit from award winning gospel comedian Pat G'Orge-Walker.
